“I
Bind You to Me Forever:
Wrapped in the Divine in Jewish Prayer”
In
the Torah, Jews are taught to “bind these words for a
sign upon your hand”. The prophet Hosea, speaking for
the Divine, said, “I bind you to me in justice and righteousness,
in mercy and loving kindness, in faithfulness; I bind you to
me forever”. Jewish prayer practice embodies being enveloped
in Divine presence. Join Rabbi David Mivasair of Vancouver’s
Ahavat Olam Synagogue to experience and explore tsitsit (fringes),
tallit (prayer shaw) and tefillin (phylacteries).
