Amir

Amir O'Loughlin

Amir O'Loughlin has been a teacher and guide in the Sufi Order International for over 30 years, and currently is its National Representative in Canada.  In addition to his roles in the Sufi Order International, Amir is a musician and recording artist whose album "Merhaba" has garnered much praise in both North America and Europe.  In his daily professional life, Amir is a psychotherapist.

The Dances of Universal Peace were an inspiration of Murshid Samuel Lewis, a Sufi Master who taught in San Francisco in the late 1960’s.  An integration between traditional spiritual movement rituals and folk dancing, the Dances of Universal Peace (colloquially known by many as simply “Sufi Dancing”) honour all faith and wisdom traditions through chant and simple but effective movements.  They are a way to connect to the Beloved and the Beloved in all, through our bodies, hearts, and voices.
